This should be a very interesting game. I think it will be close. The Packers live and die by the pass; the Seahawks live and die by denying the pass. Something has got to give.
Green Bay has a lot to be excited about. Their passing game looked better than ever through training camp and preseason. Eddie Lacy is fully healthy and ready to go. Their defense has reloaded and Dom Capers is about to unveil what he had in mind when they picked up Julius Peppers to play outside linebacker. Aside from injuries to BJ Raji and JC Tretter, the Packers come into this game, relatively healthy.
Seattle is coming off a 43-8 Super Bowl win over the best offense in the history of the NFL. Last season, they got better and better as the year went on, especially on offense. Their defense has been one of the NFL's best for the last 3 seasons, so it's no surprise that they come into this year ranked #1 in most Power Rankings.
This game is going to come down to the matchups between the Packers wide receivers and the Seahawks "Legion of Boom" secondary. If Green Bay is able to win the one on one matchups, I believe they have the upper hand. If, however, the Seahawks are able to bully the Green Bay receivers and frustrate Rodgers, it would be difficult for Seattle to find a way to lose.
I think the Packers match up with the Seahawks as well, if not better, than any team in this league. It will be close, with small "wins" by each team. In the end, I think Seattle's defense is far better than the Packer's D, and their offense is good enough to make plays against an unproven defense.
Seahawks 31
Packers 27
